Tips to help your baby latch to The Pacii
- After a feeding, it is recommended to introduce the pacifier to your baby. If introduced while hungry, the baby may associate the pacifier with the expectation of receiving milk, leading to disappointment and fussiness when milk doesn't follow. Waiting until the baby has been fed and needs soothing is the ideal time to introduce the pacifier, as it will trigger a familiar and neutral sucking motion without any expectation of milk.

Remember to be patient when introducing The Pacii to your baby, as there may be a bit of a learning curve. Using a pacifier requires similar jaw and mouth movements as breastfeeding, which may take some time for your little one to get used to. If your baby is used to a different type of pacifier, they may need a little extra time to adjust to this new one. But don't worry, with some practice and encouragement, most babies will soon get the hang of using their new pacifier!

Remember the old adage, "if at first you don't succeed, try, try again." This saying also applies when introducing a new pacifier to your baby. Since this pacifier utilizes different oral motor movements than traditional ones, it may take a bit more effort for your baby to get the hang of it. If your baby initially rejects it, don't be discouraged. Try again later in the day, or even the next day. It may take a few days for both you and your baby to become accustomed to the new pacifier, so give yourself some time and keep trying.

The Pacii is specifically designed to help calm and soothe your baby, which is why many parents and caregivers notice that their baby primarily uses it to fall asleep. During playtime and other active periods, your baby may not be as interested in using the pacifier, and that's actually a good thing! Because using The Pacii requires specific mouth and jaw movements, it can be challenging for your baby to both suck on it and play at the same time. As recommended by speech and feeding specialists, our goal with The Pacii is to use it for soothing purposes and then remove it when playtime or other activities resume.
